PROJECT: Launch Cinematic for Chronos (Oculus Rift)

NOTES: My first job for the Australian production studio Plastic Wax was Chronos – the launch title for the (then) brand new Oculus Rift VR goggles! The final trailer is pretty close to my storyboards, the client apparently even liked the idea of the old woman blowing out the candle at the end. This wasn’t in the script but that’s what I get hired for – reading between the lines of the script and trying to push the envelope a little. Since, and this is very rare in this profession, my first draft of the boards was accepted as is we had the time to make good use of my concept art skills to give the production team a bit more to chew on. I think my art was a good fit for the slightly abstract style that Chronos used. See the first 5 minutes of the video below to get an idea of the experience.
