Road Trip

22.03.2010«

No updates in the last two months because I have been somewhat busy (quel surprise!).
Let me start by linking you to a news article in a local newspaper. If you can read German you can enjoy the news item to the fullest, if not, just check out the pictures.

Product news:
Two months work and not much to show for right now but wait till you see the new game that CRYTEK will publish and you will know what I had the honours and thrill of working on. :) My old Transformers book, Spotlight Wheelie, is now on sale as a digital comic for the PSP. If you can’t afford the trade paperback collecting Wheelie and some other books from the Spotlgiht series or want portable TF goodness, download this baby. Check out some pics here, on my deviant art website (the retro cover now online!) and in their shop. In Germany a new Shadowrun book (SCHATTENSTÄDTE) came out with new and old illustrations by yours truly.
In the works:
Not really in the works anymore (since I recently finished my work on it) is IDW’s G.I. Joe Origins #15 Snow Job. Merrill Hagen delivered the script and with me on art and colors we cooked up a nice little self contained story about the JOE’s arctic ranger fighting a heated battle in the heard of Venezuela’s capitol Caracas. A rougher and grittier style than in my Beachhead issue but fitting to the story and I hope you feel the heat as much as the protagonist. The book also contains two special bonus pages with…well, that would be telling. Look for it in May. Whoever missed me drawing giant robots: I am also working on covers again for IDW’s THE  TRANSFORMERS books.
VERY soon to come is the new Mephisto Magazine #48, with a big article about “DIE ZWERGE” (The Dwarves) by Markus Heitz and our collaboration on the brand new illustrated editon, including a making of, interview and commentary. Mephisto #48 will also contain new Degenesis illustrations. Check back on www.mephisto.name regularly to look for the previews from that issue.

Events:
Next week flying to the US of A again, kicking off convention season with Wondercon 2010 in San Franciso. After that a quick trip to windy city Chicago, hitting C2E2 and maybe another in-store signing at a local comic book store. Then, come early June, you can meet me at Comicsalon Erlangen in Germany. I will be there all four days and will try to prepare a little convention sketchkbook for the event for all fans of pencil and rough  sketch artwork. Gencon and San Diego comic con loom on the horizon but that will be in summer and I’ll report about my plans regarding that closer to the events.

Deutschland News:
April.
