Back from Leipzig book fair! Oh what a great time I had with collegues like Martin Schlierkamp (and company) or author Boris Koch and his crowd of authors, editors and all around nice people I had the honor of meeting but before I drift off giving shout outs, here’s a little link with a photo, showing me and a Degenesis fan – glad I could take time for everybody at this con. Much less hectic than Essen SPIEL or Genon Indi I can wholeheartedly recommend this fine, annual book event. Leipzig rocks!

Terminator Salvation: The official Movie prequel #2 is on the shelves. Actually, I did the retailer incentive cover for #1 one and two. More coming up! Also upcoming is the Shadowrun 20th Anniversary core rule book which can be pre-orderd now! I only did two illos in this baby but rest assured you can see all 5 races in it – and in this world of cyberpunk gangsters everybody is a suspect so you can alreay guess how I show them.
One thing you can NOT pre-order yet is the Dark Creed, another Warhammer 40.000 novel by Anthony Reynolds – check out an excerpt of the cover in the Black Library Blog. Feel free to comment!
New in Germany is Mephisto #44, which will be available in stores around March 20th. Great German magazine for all roleplayers and fans of the fantasy and sci-fi genre!

A series of portraits for a great upcoming Battletech book! A comic story with writer Josef Rother I finally have to finish. A comic oneshot for the IDW people (still not telling). Finishing up layout for Tabletop Insider #1, advertisement jobs, prepping everything for my seminar at Bielefeld University and giving three workshops next week…the list goes on. At least my life isn’t boring…

Der März-VHS-Zeichenworkshop ist fast ausgebucht. Es sind bereits 22 Plätze der 25 weg und wer jetzt noch zu diesem Termin einsteigen will hat genau 5 Tage zeit! Auch die Anmeldung für die anderen Kurse hat begonnen.
Zwei kleinere Workshops gibt’s Anfang April auf der Roleplay Con. Der erste findet am Samstag 4. April (12-13 Uhr) unter dem Banner der RPC Professional statt – „Concept Art: Character Design“ gibt einen Rundumblick wie man zeichnerische Vorlagen für 3-D Renderings in Computerspielen erstellt, z.B. an hand von meiner Arbeit für SACRED II. Anatomie, Geometrische Formen, Silhuettenwirkung und andere Designregeln werden anhand eines spontanen Charakterdesigns zeichnerisch veranschaulicht.
Der zweite Workshop „Rollenspielillustration: Vom Fan zum Profi“ (Sonntag, 5. April, 14-15 Uhr) gibt Anleitung wie man Dynamik in einer Zeichnung erzeugt und wie man Fehler erkennt und vermeidet, selbst schon bei Strichmännchen. Hinkommen, mitmachen, Spaß haben!
Und hier noch ein Tipp für Comic-Enthusiasten aus dem Raum Bielefeld. Das Huelsmann Museum hat sich entschlossen noch einen weiteren Termin stattfinden zu lassen von „Comics sehen – Comics machen“ und zwar am kommenden Donnerstag den 19. März. Nachdem sich lokale Bildungseinrichtungen wie Berufs- und Kunstschulen exklusive Termine auf Anfrage sicherten, ist dies noch mal die Chance für einzelne Personen oder Kleingruppen ins echte Leben und arbeiten von Comiczeichnern reinzuschnuppern. Bitte kontaktieren Sie direkt das Muesum Huelsmann für Anmeldungen oder größere Gruppentermine.
