More cover art hit the shelves recently as Heyne/Randomhouse has published the Shadowrun novel “Das Bronzetor”, get it now only in Germany. Also new in Germany’s bookstores is “Böses Erwachen“ (Evil Awakening) the first novel from newcomer Scratch Verlag (Publishing) – you will be able to download a desktop image from their website soon. www.scratch-verlag.de

In the works:

Lots of advertisement work for German firms and concept art for the big Wizards in Seattle recently which, indeed , can’t be shown. Some new Degenesis pieces for Mephisto Magazine can be found at www.degenesis.de and www.mephisto.name, might be of interest for the fan of postapocalyptic themes in art. Moreover, I’m working on a radically new game project for a new client that is actually a team of old clients/collegues. Look out for more news on that from me as they go public with the project. More on that after my annual trip to the US.

There’s more Shadowrun novel cover art penciled into my time table and another fantasy cover for the new Scratch Verlag here in Germany (see above). Plus a batch of advertisement cartoons for my hometown Minden’s prolific Tucholsky Bühne theatre group – see below for more on that. In other, more, uhm, American news: YO, JOE!! IDW’s got the license for doing comics about the REAL AMERICAN HEROES and… no, I’don’t wanna jinx it. Let’s all be curious and calm and wait what Mr. Ryall and his merry men cook up J. I’m exited!

Events:

Just returned from Comic Salon Erlangen 2008, which wasn’t even announced from my side, sorry about that. I had blast meeting all the pros and comic enthusiasts and if you want to see how it was there check out this lovely little video provided by WeissblechComics.com! Now that the flights and hotels are booked I can firmly announce I’ll attend San Diego Comic Con and Gencon Indi in July and August respectively. Between the cons I have two weeks to kill in the US and I’ll likely enjoy Seattle, Portland (OR) and Chicago in that time if all goes well (the interstate flights aren’t booked at this date so we’ll see). Should you run a comic book store that is proud to offer the current Tranformers book line, let me know if you want me to drop bye for a signing! ;-)

Next con I’ll be seen at in GERMANY will probably be »NordCon in Hamburg, not sure yet, though. Don’t know how wrecked I’ll be from my big trip through the US of A but I might even make it to Ratcon

in Dortmund to touch base with the Shadowrun and DSA people, not to forget Battletech.

Gernany/Deutschland News:

Die RPC Münster war ein großer Erfolg, auch für mich der ich die Chance hatte ein 30-mann Zelt voll Zeichenbegeisterter zu unterhalten und erbauen. Wenn ihr dabei ward und es Euch Spaß gemacht hat, schreibt eine Mail an mich oder die RPC-Orga und vielleicht stehe ich Euch 2009 in Köln bei der dritten RPC-messe wieder zur Verfügung. Auf Grund der steigenden Nachfrage an „ernsthafteren“ Zeichenkursen, stehe ich grad in Verhandlungen mit der VHS Bielefeld meinen 2 Tageskurs im Frühjahr für 2009 auf zwei Termine auszuweiten um einfach Mehr Leuten die Möglichkeit zu geben dabei zu sein. Keine Angst, der Kurs bleibt inhaltlich konstant,  es werden voraussichtlich nur verschiedene Schwerpunkte gelegt, so dass man Inhaltlich halt noch mehr in die Tiefe gehen kann. Euch das volle Brett zu geben bleibt also ein Standard von dem ich nicht abrücke. Wer in Bielefeld und Umgebung wohnt kann in der kommenden Juli-Ausgabe der Zeitschrift DER BIELEFELDER eine kleine Berichterstattung über Bielefelder Comiczeichner finden, so wurde mir jedenfalls erzählt als ich die Tage dafür interviewt wurde. Ansonsten sind da auch noch Dirk Schulz vom hervorragenden Splitter Verlag dabei und Cartoonist Ralph Ruthe, den ich endlich in Erlangen mal persönlich treffen konnte. Hi Ralph! Letzter Tipp für Deutschland: Horrorschocker ist immer noch Deutschlands einzige und beste Horror- und Gruselanthologie-Comicserie. In # 18 gibt’s mal wieder ein kleines Charon Einführungsbild von mir, aber auch das ganze Heft ist sehr, sehr gut geworden holt es Euch HIER
