Die Wächter von Göttingen

25.02.2008«

This website hasn’t been updated with a nice newsbit for quite some time. It’s 100% my fault but it is also high time my webmaster installs a blog-type update tool for old Klaus. Not surprisingly it was work that kept me from putting down the newest links and infos regarding my output so let`s dive right in.

Product news:
New on the shelves are two publications from BLACK LIBRARY, namely DESERT RAIDERS and DARK APOSTLE both with me in the credits for cover, though in Desert Raiders my name lacks a “c” – well, there have been worse misspellings of my old east-prussian last name.
Also in the novel department, if only Germany wide, you can find DIE WÄCHTER VON GÖTTINGEN – the cover image is the newest addition to the gallery section, check it out HERE.
If you live in Germany and are interested in games you will know MEPHISTO,

Germany’s premiere RPG and Tabletop game magazine. In # 39 you’ll find a nice little Degenesis article from my hands. Regarding DEGENESIS there are even more news, you can now preorder the Kultbuch: Spitalier from the German website, it will be in stores late March. The first 36 to preorder will get a free sketch: catch all the news HERE.
Shadowrun novels continue to sell well, no wonder Heyne/Randomhouse produces new covers for the famous sci-fi/fantasy line. You’ll find my covers for fabolous Maike Hallmann’s VERTIGO and André Wieslers IM NAMEN DES HERRN in all good bookshops in Germany.
In smaller news, German RPG fanzine ENVOYER issue 02/2008 has used an excerpt from my Postapocalyptic Hero image as cover, with kind permission from »HEROGAMES.

In the works:
I worked in the Digtial Games department of Wizards of the Coast Seattle HQ for a couple weeks in September last year but indeed I cannot reveal what kind of concept art I did and am doing – however it is safe to say that I did not do cards for Magic the Gathering, so stop asking! ;-)
So, there’s another project in the works I can now say more about. It’s finally time I draw a 22 page Spotlight one-shot issue for THE TRANSFORMERS. Which little ‘bot it will feature? Check out IDW publisher Chris Ryall’s blog RYALLTIME for some fun previews! Due in stores in June. Promo fun and Sketches under the respective links.
More TF? Okay, there is this preview of one of two pieces I did for the big “All Hail Megatron” event for tranformers available HERE.

Mephisto magazine (Germany) still continues to amaze with April’s #40 coming around bringing with it a 16 page booklet featuring DEGENESIS in all it’s black and white glory with »FOKUS:HELLVETIKER. Shortstory, weapons, a playable scenario and all the info about the rank and function of the Fourier we could put into the thing. We, in this case, being frequent Classic Battletech contributor Andreas Zuber (www.borantec.ch) and me.
Another German product I produced a cover for is the first novel from Scratch-Verlag, a small new publisher venturing into the fantasy literature industry.

Just finished but not in print yet is Tactical Operations, a new »CLASSIC BATTLETECH book from Catalyst Game Labs. Nine color pieces illustrating stunning shortstories wait for the reader. No slow year on the cover front either as I’m now busy finishing my second »SHADOWRUN RPG cover (first was Shadows of Europe) for the upcoming augmented reality book UNWIRED.

There’s a batch of new work in sight for Sighpress’ Degenesis line but I’m not yet saying what it will be as I haven’t signed contracts at this date. Check the news section of DEGENESIS.DE for updates.

Events:
Next con I’ll attend will be the »Role Play Con in lovely Münster (Germany) where you can find me at the booth of Mephisto and Sighpress, signing books and I’ll probably give a little workshop on dynamic anatomy for all you aspiring game artists out there who couldn’t make it into my fully booked out, annual illustration workshop in Bielefeld (Germany).
Also planned for this year are Comic Con International: San Diego and Gencon Indi in the US but before that in May I have to be at Comicsalon Erlangen, Germany’s biggest comic festival taking place only every second year! You’ll be able to find me signing at the booth of Weissblechcomics, in their own words, “The world’s best publisher of the world”. Germany/Deutschland News:
