The German novel DER SCHATTENLEHRLING has just hit the shelves in Germany. I was asked to do the cover by Fanpro Germany and my friend Boris Koch, author of this shockingly frank and down to earth coming of age story set in the dystopian sci-fi/fantasy world of Shadowrun. In the Netherlands “A Nightmare on the town”, the six page story I did with Germany’s top comic writer Josef Rother for Heavy Metal magazine, has just been published in local language in the new SFeerie Magazine. It also contains a three page interview and some new and known illustratons by me.
In terms of The Transformers www.idwpublishing.com and its solicitations section will keep you updated. Previews o fhe interior pages by E.J. Su are incredible in detail, design and storytelling, this makes me even more proud to contribute to this series, starting this month from IDW!
Apart from the new Shadowrun sourcebooks Runner Havens and Street Magic for which I provided some interior illustrations, Fanpro Germany just published the Das Schwarze Auge hardcover fantasy RPG book, I did two nice halfpage illustrations.
Mephisto Magazine #34 has hit the racks punctually in Germany, look forward to # 35 before X-mas this year with several illustrations for Shadowrun and Confrontation articles; preview here and info at www.dunklewelten.de
In the works:
For the popular DEGENESIS line I’m currently working on characters and illustrations for Kultbuch: Spitalier that will be released this winter, in Germany. Still looking forward to the core rule book in English language, soon from Fanpro USA (www.degenesisrpg.com). Having completed a few creature designs for Classic Battletech’s House Davion book, I may again illustrate ten thrilling short stories in the upcoming Tactical Operations just as I did for Total Warfare before. Also for CBT, I’m working on the cover for Jihad Hot Spots: 3072.
Transformers again: I just handed in the variant cover for Escalation #5 and with only one more cover scheduled so far would love to graduate to sequential pages, too, in the future.
In the works is also Levin Kurio’s story RABIZUS REICH for Horrorschocker magazine; let’s see if this fun six pager will make its way into the US in the future, too.

Nach Erfolgreicher Absolvierung des Mindener Mini-zeichenworkshops kann ich gleich zwei neue Kurse ankündigen die alsbald im Programm der VHS Bielefeld (www.vhs-bielefeld.de) auftauchen werden. Der jährliche 2-tages Power-Workshop Illustration und Comiczeichnen findet am Wochenende des 3. und 4. März statt. Gleich in der Woche drauf startet am Mittwoch den 7. März der vierwöchige Aufbaukurs dazu. In vier Sessions gibt es hier die seltene Chance seine Fähigkeiten in den Bereichen Figurenaufbau und Storytelling zu verbessern, ideal für den Zeichner der mal hinter die Kulissen des Mediums Comic sehen möchte oder den Semiprofessionellen der ein Portfolio für bekannte Comicverlage vorbereitet. Oder einfach nur um sich den Input zu holen um seine eigenen Figuren lebendig werden zu lassen? Die Plätze sind begrenzt, eine frühe Anmeldung wird empfohlen.
