Infos:
Having returned from the USA it’s more than time for another update. First stop on my trip was Comic Con International San Diego and the heat in the streets met the heat index at the con. I hooke up with the IDW (www.idwpublishing.com) staff and could even help them represent the company at the IDW panel whose highlights quickly found its way to www.comicbookresources.com and even YouTube! This makes working for the Transformers Comics line even more exiting. I had a blast, thanks guys!!
My next stop was Wizardworldcon Chicago where “The German Who Walks” Jürgen Meyer (www.madmoses.com) introdruced me to artist extraordinaire Chris Shy, (Greetz to the entire Studio Ronin crew!;-).
Finally it was time for Gencon Indianapolis, where I helped introduce people to the exiting Degenesis roleplaying game at the booth of FanPro, the producers of the 2006 Ennie Award winning Shadowrun RPG will launch the Degenesis game line in English language in December this year, find more infos at www.degenesis.com.
Updates/Product news:
With a bit of delay „Transformers Infiltraton“ #6 just hit comicbook stores in July with my cover (c) being one of the four variant covers. Try to get one! More of my upcoming variants for the „Escalation“ arc are due soon!
New at Gencon were two Classic Battletech books. One being the spectacular Total Warfare book for which I supplied the 12 interior faction illustrations, this book started the exiting re-branding and visual updating of this classical game of giant Battlemechs (TM). The other is CBT Historicals: Brush Wars, check out my cover and desktop motives courtesy of www.classicbattletech.com directly HERE.
Talking Shadowrun we have Streetmagic that contains an illustration I did and there’s a fullpager in Runner Havens (plus a couple more in the German Edition Schatten-städte). Also the GM-screen-booklet contains several character illustration that turned out quite nicely. Find all the info you need on: www.shadowrunrpg.com.
Privateer just released the awesome Superiorty book which also contains a piece by yours truely, find the book and more info on www.privateerpress.com, it’s a great product to work for and I hope I get to draw for them more often.
Sighpress has the new Feldberichte: Psychonauten on the shelves in Germany. You can order a copy in the shop at www.degenesis.de, it also contains illos by Eva Widermann and Tobias Mannewitz and just looks fantastic! Check out one of my pics HERE and a foto of me having just returned from Indianapolis, holding the book at Ratcon 2006 in Dortmund (Germany) Here.
In the works:
Apart from the six infiltration covers (of which three are completed by this date) I was also given a variant on the Ultra Magnus Solo one-shot book from IDW publishing, the sketches have been approved and I think it’s gonna turn out just like the Optims Prime cover. In Winter Sighpress releases Kultbuch: SPITALIER, for the Degenesis game line, so I’m drawing lots of bald people. In addition to that, Mephisto Magazine #34, due early October in Germany, will showcase some pencils and some colorpieces from my hands (Shadowrun, Confrontation, Degenesis); in my function as artdirector of the mag I’m very proud and happy to say that we have a great selection of high quality artists in there (see www.dunklewelten.de for updates or previews). I’ll be doing more tradingcards soon as it seems, this time for a History themed game. My design skills are being requested repeatedly momentarily by Dark-Age Games for their great miniatures game. My good friend and comic collaborator Boris Koch just finished his first Shadowrun novel, called Der Schattenlehrling (The Shadow-apprentice) – I provided the cover of the book coming out in October, check it out HERE.
Did I mention I still have to finish a six pager that will be in Horrorschocker and Heavy Metal magazine written by Levin Kurio? And more projects that loom on the horizon with German super scribe Josef Rother. Yes, I think I will stay very busy in the weeks and month to come…
Events:
Next con for me will be Frankfurt Bookfair (Oct. 5-8, 2006) where I will just hang out and meet people for a day or two. I will definitely see more action at Essen Spiel fair (Oct. 19-22, 2006) where you can meet me at the booth of Sighpress/Mephisto and probably Fanpro GmbH (Shadowrun/Battletech) signing and sketching into books.
Germany/Deutschland News:
