Updates/Product news:
THE TRANSFORMERS: INFILTRATION #6 just hit the stores, one of the variant covers being the one shown in my gallery HERE – you can also find it in Wizard #177; the comicmagazine ranks the series on the no.3 spot for best independent comic book series showcasing my cover. Awesome! However, this was not my last TF-work. IDW ordered six more covers for the upcominc ESCALATION story arc. Drop bye www.idwpublishing.com for previews.
In stores in Germany there’s Horrorschocker #10 with my cover and an 8-page story I did with horror-author Boris Koch. Also in Horrorschocker Extra-Album there’s an extra interior illustraton done by yours truely.
In the works:
Having successfully completed the mammoth task of 12 Battletech colorillustrations for Total Warfare we look forward to the Gencon 2006 release of the book – find previews on www.classicbattletech.com , also for additonal infos from line developer Randall Bills on how the entire project came to be. Next I did another BT cover, namely for Classic Battletech Historicals: Brushwars, on sale later this year. I hope we can show a preview soon. Oh, and then there is the Battletech book Jihad Hot Spots 3070 find my cover HERE.
Short time ago I finished the last illustration for Feldberichte: Psychonauten the new DEGENESIS book from Sighpress Germany – previews and discussion in THIS forum thread. Also in the works are a halfpager for Shadowrun’s Street Magic for 4th Edition and two DAS SCHWARZE AUGE illustrations – it’s five years ago that I worked for DSA (Fanpro Germany) so it’s a special pleasure to do fantasy stuff again.
The comic story for Heavy Metal remains on ice for the time being but is scheduled to get finished in October this year, too many other jobs that could not be adjourned cropped up.
Events:
In Germany it’s an Erlangen year again (www.comic-salon.de). The comic con kicks off on 15 June and grants 4 days of fun and comics – you can find me signing at the booth of Weissblech Comics, more info here: www.weissblechcomics.com
San Diego Comic Con (July 19-23) is next. Look for me signing at the IDW booth close to HASBRO’s giant TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE stand. Then I head to Chicago where I attend Wizard World Con and I’ll conclude my time in the US with Gencon in Indianapolis (booth of Fanpro, indeed) where we’ll advertise the English edition of the Degenesis RPG!
Germany/Deutschland News:
Horrorschocker #9hat eine sehr positive Rezension erhalten, zu finden HIER. Wer das Heft nicht über den Onlineshop von Weissblech Comics bestellt, kann sich das gute Stück sogar beim Erlanger Comicsalon signieren lassen (Stand Nummer 33 – mehr Infos oben in den internationalen News), dort verteilen wir sogar gratis POSTER mit diesem Motiv. Ich hoffe meine Co-Operation mit Boris Koch für HS #10 kommt auch so gut an.
Wer in Deutschland auch den WDR empfängt sollte die Augen offen halten, dieser Tage könnte dort ein kurzer Filmbeitrag (3,5min) aus Bielefeld dabei sein, der meine lustige Existenz als Zeichner beleuchtet.
ZEICHNENKURS NEWS: Wegen des großen Erfolges wird es in Minden dieses Jahr noch mal einen Illustrations-Kurs geben. Voraussichtlich am 4. November ist der Ein-Tages-Intensiv-Kurs diesmal auf ein Publikum von 16 bis 36 Jahren ausgerichtet die schon Vorkenntnisse haben – Anmeldung bald über www.vhs-minden.de.
Projekte:
Als nächstes stehen ein Cover für Boris Kochs Shadowrun Roman an, welcher im Herbst erscheint, außerdem viele DEGENESIS-Illustrationen für Kultbuch: Spitalier, Shadowrun, ein weiteres Battletech Cover und, wie oben erwähnt, noch einige TRANSFORMERS Comic cover. Moment laufen Verhandlungen eine Auswahl meiner Comic-Kurzgeschichten als Sammelband in den Niederlanden zu veröffentlichen. 2006 ist für mich zeichnerisch wirklich so spannend wie noch nie.
